RAL 3018 specifies a color target, not finish or process. Powder coatings often have orange peel/texture and a specific gloss that liquid paint (usually smooth) will not inherently replicate. Even when both meet the RAL color, differences in texture and gloss change how the color appears, especially at angles and under varied lighting.

To reduce visible mismatch:

• Specify the required gloss/sheens for the liquid paint to approximate the installed powder (e.g., matte, satin, gloss).
• If adjacency is critical, send a coated part for a sample-based match so we can tune color and sheen to your actual surface.
• Verify with a test panel under your site lighting before full production.

If the need is minor touch-up or non-adjacent parts, a standard RAL 3018 match is often sufficient and more practical.

We will supply paint formulated to the RAL 3018 color standard in the product you select. Because RAL defines color, not process, please include the following to align expectations and acceptance:

• Product and use: coating type (e.g., touch-up aerosol, industrial enamel, 2K system), substrate, and service environment.
• Appearance targets: required gloss/sheens and whether a smooth or textured look is expected.
• Acceptance basis: match to the RAL 3018 standard (fan/deck) or match to an existing coated part (send a sample if the latter).
• Inspection conditions: how and where color will be viewed (site lighting can affect perception).

If only "RAL 3018" is specified without samples, acceptance will be based on meeting the RAL color target under controlled lighting, not on reproducing an unknown powder texture or gloss.
