RAL 3002 Carmine Red Paint

• Standard RAL 3002 is sufficient for: cross-material coordination where sheen/texture already differ; low-criticality field touch-up; situations where close visual harmony is enough.
• Send a sample or provide the OEM powder code for: high-visibility cosmetic surfaces; large-area repaints; strict inspection/acceptance criteria; matching existing coated parts (powder-to-liquid differences in gloss/texture are common).
• What to provide: a clean representative part or coated panel, desired gloss (60 degrees GU or matte/satin/gloss), texture requirement (smooth/structured), and the lighting under which acceptance will be judged.

Note: A RAL code defines a color target, not a process. Without a sample, the product will be matched to the RAL 3002 standard on the specified liquid coating platform and sheen, which may not visually align with textured or high-gloss powders.

Different light sources change how pigments reflect light (metamerism). A coating that matches RAL 3002 in daylight can shift under warm LED or fluorescent lighting.

• Agree on inspection lighting before ordering (e.g., daylight D65, your production lighting, or both).
• Inspect at consistent viewing angles and only after the coating has fully dried/cured and reached final gloss.
• Align gloss/texture before judging color-gloss differences can make the same color appear lighter/darker.
• If acceptance is under specific LEDs, request a match evaluated under that lighting or supply a production sample to match.

Practical approach: Approve a retained spray-out of RAL 3002 under the agreed light source(s), then use that retain as your QC reference.

• Color target: "RAL 3002 Carmine Red (RAL Classic)" and specify target reference: match RAL standard vs match customer sample vs match OEM powder code (brand/code if known).
• Gloss/Sheen: 60 degrees gloss range (or matte/satin/gloss term) and acceptable variation.
• Texture/Surface: smooth vs textured/structured; note that texture can darken appearance.
• Product/Application: resin type if required, application method (spray/aerosol/brush), and required film build if critical.
• Substrate/Undercoat: substrate type and primer/undercoat shade (neutral gray recommended for reds).
• Inspection: lighting condition(s), comparison standard (fan deck, approved retain, or your sample), and acceptance method (visual or an agreed instrumental tolerance to RAL 3002).
• Traceability: request lot/batch numbers on labels and a supplier spray-out retain for your QC files.

• Expectations vs powder: liquid touch-up on a textured or high-gloss powder may not match texture/gloss; acceptable for small chips, not for large uniform areas.
