If you are matching an existing part or finish, remember that aging, gloss, and substrate can change how the color appears even when the code is SW1659 Buttercream. In those cases, verify the reference you want to reproduce rather than relying on the look of the current surface.

Coverage depends on the surface size, texture, hiding power, application method, and how many coats you need. A typical can of spray paint covers about 20 square feet with one coat. Other paint formats typically cover about 400 to 600 square feet, depending on the product.

Keep in mind that gloss level changes how SW1659 Buttercream reads on the part even when the color match is correct. If you are coating a piece that has to coordinate with an existing painted surface, the sheen choice can matter as much as the color reference itself.

For spray paint matched to SW1659 Buttercream, dry-to-touch is usually within minutes, recoating is usually in 1 to 2 hours, and full cure is about two weeks. These are different milestones, so a part can feel dry before it is fully hardened.

If you need additional color build, wait for the recoat window before applying another coat. Handle the item carefully until the coating has had time to cure, especially on small parts, fixtures, or removable components that will be put back into service quickly.
