For T58-5 Butterscotch in spray paint form, expect it to be dry to the touch within minutes, ready for a second coat in about one to two hours, and fully cured in about two weeks. Dry to touch, recoat, and full cure are different stages, so do not treat them as the same milestone.

If the part will be handled soon after painting, give the coating time to cure before putting it into service.

Choose the sheen based on how the item will be used and cleaned, because gloss level changes both durability and how much light reflects off the finished surface. The same T58-5 Butterscotch color can look different in a flatter or glossier finish.

For T58-5 Butterscotch on metal or over an existing coating, clean off dirt, oil, wax, and other contamination first. Remove rust, and scuff smooth or glossy old coatings so the new paint has a better surface to hold onto.

Also check the condition of the old coating, because its gloss, texture, and wear can affect how the matched color reads after application. A test area is helpful when the substrate or prior coating is in poor condition.
