If the surface is glossy or smooth and the product is suitable for scuffing, a light scuff can help with adhesion. Mask off areas you do not want painted, and test the product on the actual surface before coating the full item.

Prep matters because the same MyPerfectColor match can look and perform differently on different substrates and surface conditions.

Coverage depends on the size of the item, the surface texture, how much hiding power is needed, the application method, and how many coats you plan to apply. A typical can of spray paint covers about 20 square feet with one coat. Other paints typically cover between 400 and 600 square feet, but real-world coverage can be lower on rough, porous, or darker surfaces.

If you are coating a textured or high-visibility item in Dulux Real Teal 52712, allow extra paint for additional coats and for test spraying before the main application.

Choose the sheen based on how the item will be used and how much cleanup or durability you need. Lower sheens usually reduce reflection and can help hide surface marks, while higher sheens are more reflective and can make the same Dulux Real Teal 52712 match read differently on the finished item.

If you are coating a part that needs to blend with an existing painted surface, the sheen should be selected as carefully as the color match itself.

Apply light, even coats and keep a consistent spray distance. Overlap each pass slightly and avoid heavy wet coats, since too much paint at once can cause runs, uneven sheen, or a muddy build of color.
