Plastics vary widely, so test a small area on the actual part before coating the full item. MyPerfectColor spray paint sticks well to most plastics, but adhesion can improve when you use the MyPerfectColor primer for acrylic enamel: Primer for Acrylic Enamel. This is especially important on molded parts, covers, grilles, and other pieces where the plastic type is not obvious.

For best results, clean the surface well, let it dry, and use the test area to confirm adhesion and appearance before committing to the whole project.

Choose the finish based on how the part will be used and how closely it needs to coordinate with the existing surface. Sheen affects durability, reflectivity, cleanup, and the way Dulux Stonewall reads on the finished item. If you are coating a part that sits next to an existing painted surface, matching the sheen is often as important as matching the color.

Lower sheens reduce shine, while higher sheens are more reflective and can change the way the color appears. The same color formula can look different if the finish is different.

For spray paint, the coating is typically dry to the touch within minutes, should be recoated in 1 to 2 hours, and is fully cured in about two weeks. Those are different milestones, so do not confuse dry-to-touch with fully cured.

If the part will be handled, installed, or stacked with other items, wait for the cure time whenever possible so the finish can harden fully.

MyPerfectColor spray paint matched to Dulux Stonewall is a practical choice for small parts and hardware where a smooth sprayed finish is useful. Common applications include switch covers, vents, speaker grilles, brackets, trim pieces, knobs, shelves, and accessories. It can also be used on items such as PVC pipe, gutters, downspouts, railings, shutters, mailboxes, and other removable or awkward parts that need to coordinate with an existing color.

For these projects, the main goal is usually repeatable color on the part itself, along with good surface prep and the right finish for the item being coated.

MyPerfectColor offers custom spray paint matched to Dulux Stonewall which enables you to conveniently achieve a professional spray-smooth finish. It is difficult to gauge spray paint coverage because it depends on how you apply it and the amount of overspray, but generally the 11oz spray will cover about 20 square feet per coat.

MyPerfectColor uses an acrylic enamel which is a fast-drying durable coating suitable for interior or exterior use. This paint sticks well to most surfaces including metal, plastics, powder-coatings, cabinets and primed or previously painted wood.

While MyPerfectColor can provide paint matched to the Dulux Stonewall, we don't provide any crossover information because this is a subjective determination. Every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, so determining which color is the best approximation is a judgement call.

However, under the color image on a color page there is a link that says "Explore Related Colors". Clicking this link displays colors with similar values and you can look for any colors from the company you want.
