Even when MyPerfectColor makes a match of 8495D Twain Blue, the finished result can still look different depending on lighting, placement, sheen, and the surfaces around it. Daylight, warm indoor light, and shadow can all change how the color reads on the item you paint. A fresh coating on a flat sample can also look different from the same color on a curved part, a textured surface, or something placed next to an older painted surface. If your project will sit right beside an existing finish, it is wise to expect some visual shift from the surrounding conditions even when the color match itself is correct.

Choose the sheen based on how the part will be used, not just the color name. Lower sheen options reduce reflections and can make surface flaws less noticeable, while higher sheen options are easier to wipe and will show more shine.

Because 8495D Twain Blue is only the color reference, the sheen you choose will strongly affect how the finished item looks. If you are matching an existing painted part, try to select a sheen that is close to the surrounding surface.

Coverage for 8495D Twain Blue depends on the surface size, texture, hiding power, application method, and how many coats are needed. A typical can of spray paint covers about 20 square feet with one coat, while other paint formats usually cover between 400 and 600 square feet. If you are painting something like pipes, vents, brackets, mailboxes, railings, or other small parts, plan around the actual part size and expect rough or porous surfaces to use more material than a smooth one.
