A match of US Government AMS-STD-595 10075 is a deep, warm red-brown with muted chroma and a very low light reflectance. It reads darker than a brick red, with an earthy brown cast that keeps the color subdued rather than vivid.

MyPerfectColor custom spray paint matched to this government color reference can be used on panels, brackets, enclosures, housings, cabinet doors, support hardware, fixture parts, and other fabricated components that need a consistent spec-driven finish. It is also practical for touch-up on maintenance items, restoration pieces, prototypes, and color-coded accessories where the drawing or procurement package calls for this code.

Because the color is dark, surface prep and coating build matter. Scratches, sanding marks, gloss variation, and uneven substrate color can stand out more once the paint dries, and coverage over a lighter or patchy base may need a proper primer and additional coats for an even read.

This is a match to the selected Fed Standard 595C or AMS-STD-595 reference, not a duplicate of an aged in-service coating. If you are repairing next to weathered paint or working on acceptance-sensitive parts, sheen, texture, and the condition of the existing finish can change the final appearance even when the color code is correct.

About US Government Federal Standard (now Aerospace Material Specification / AMS) 595 Colors. Fed-Std-595C / FED STD 595 Colors

The Federal Standard (now Aerospace Material Specification / AMS) 595 colors are used to specify colors for US Government applications. The color are used by the US Government agencies, branches and suppliers. The most common requests we receive for Fed Standard Colors are for spray paint, Direct to Metal and other paints for prototyping, marking and identification and touchup applications. Typical clients include the USCG, all branches of the Armed Services, the State Department, Lockheed Martin and Boeing. For example, we provided paint to the Navy for marking shells with the specific Fed Std color designated to identify the type of round.

We offer 5 standard sheens in our lacquer touchup paint: flat, low lustre, satin, semi-gloss or gloss. We also offer a full range of Alkyd and Acrylic Direct To Metal paints. Please contact us if you have any questions. Please submit RFQs to [email protected]

The colors in the Federal Standard set have no official names and are identified by five-digits. The numbers designate the sheen, color classification and color intensity.

The first digit will be 1,2 or 3 and indicates the level of sheen:
    1 = gloss
    2 = semi gloss
    3 = matt

The second digit indicates the color group;
      0 = Brown     5 = Blue
      1 = Red         6 = Grey
      2 = Orange   7 = Other (white, black, violet, metallic)
      3 = Yellow     8 = Fluorescent
      4 = Green

The third to fifth digits indicate the intensity. Lower numbers indicates a darker color and higher numbers indicate a lighter color.

While the Fed Std colors indicate sheen as part of the 5 digits, MyPerfectColor still requires you to enter a specific sheen. For example, the color Fed Std 37038 technically refers to a matte finish, but MyPerfectColor offers it in any sheen.

Frequently Asked Questions About Match of US Government™ AMS-STD-595 10075 *

What does AMS-STD-595 10075 define, and what does it not define, for a MyPerfectColor order?

A match of US Government AMS-STD-595 10075 is a government color reference target. It tells you which color to match, but it does not by itself define the coating chemistry, gloss level, surface preparation, corrosion system, or any formal approval status for the job.

For purchasing, treat MyPerfectColor as custom-matched paint made to match AMS-STD-595 10075, then choose the product type and finish that fit your project requirements.

Will a match of AMS-STD-595 10075 look the same as an older in-service coating?

Not always. Even if the color code is correct, an older coating can look different because of weathering, fade, sheen change, texture, contamination, or differences in the original coating system.

If the repair is next to an aged or high-visibility surface, a full-part repaint or a match to the existing part may be a better choice than matching the standard chip alone.

What should I confirm before ordering custom MyPerfectColor paint for AMS-STD-595 10075?

Before you order, confirm the exact color code, the product format you need, the finish, and the quantity. Those choices matter because the code only defines the color reference, not the full coating system.

Also remember that custom-made color matches are not returnable or refundable, so it is best to verify the details for AMS-STD-595 10075 before checkout.

Why can AMS-STD-595 10075 look different after application even when the color match is correct?

Gloss level, texture, film build, and the substrate can all change how AMS-STD-595 10075 looks after it is applied. A matte, satin, or glossier finish can make the same color read differently in real use.

When you order a match of AMS-STD-595 10075, choose the finish and product type to fit the project, not just the color code.

What product formats can I order for AMS-STD-595 10075 from MyPerfectColor?

A match of US Government AMS-STD-595 10075 can be ordered in MyPerfectColor custom spray paint and, where available, other formats for specification-driven color work such as touch-up paint, paint pens, and brush-in-cap bottles.

The color code is the reference target. Pick the format based on how you will apply the paint and how much area you need to cover.
