A match of Dulux Copper Penny is a warm, medium-deep brown with a clear copper cast and a slightly orange-brown undertone. It reads earthy rather than bright, with enough color to feel distinct while still sitting in a restrained, muted range.
MyPerfectColor custom spray paint matched to the selected Dulux color can be used on mailboxes, railings, vent covers, switch plates, speaker grilles, brackets, shelving hardware, and other small sprayable parts. It can also suit PVC trim pieces, downspouts, shutters, and utility covers when a coordinated brown-copper finish is needed on metal, plastic, wood, or previously coated surfaces.
Because this color sits in a medium-dark range, the final look can shift with sheen, substrate, and film build. Darker or uneven base colors may show through the first coat, so additional coats are often needed for a consistent result. Finish differences can also make the color read deeper on smooth, glossy parts and slightly lighter on matte or textured surfaces.

Confirm Copper Penny from a physical swatch, an approved sample, or another known existing reference from the original brand before ordering. Screen color can vary by device and lighting, so it is not enough to verify the match online. MyPerfectColor makes a custom match to the selected brand color reference, not to an aged or weathered painted surface.
The SDS is tied to the MyPerfectColor product and chemistry, not to the Copper Penny color name alone. For the Safety Data Sheets page, use https://www.myperfectcolor.com/Safety-Data-Sheets/33970.htm. If you are ordering Copper Penny in a different format, check the SDS for that specific MyPerfectColor product.
Plastics vary a lot, so test Copper Penny on the actual part before you commit to the full project. MyPerfectColor spray paint sticks well to most plastics, but using the MyPerfectColor primer can improve adhesion on difficult or low-energy surfaces. If the plastic is unusual or heavily used, a test application is the safest way to check prep and adhesion first.

No. The same Copper Penny color can read differently in matte, satin, or gloss because the finish changes how light reflects from the surface. If you are coating a part that needs to coordinate with an existing finished item, choose the finish carefully so the final appearance is closer to what you need.
Clean the surface, remove oil, dirt, rust, and loose coating, and scuff glossy areas so the new coating can bond properly. The condition of the old coating, along with its gloss and texture, can affect both adhesion and how Copper Penny looks after application. If the existing finish is failing or badly contaminated, fix that before spraying.
MyPerfectColor has an original sample of the Dulux Copper Penny in its color archive. This enables us to make paint and verify that it matches the original.
Please note that if your material is not new then the paint may not work for touch up as your material has aged and is likely different than it was when new. While MyPerfectColor can provide paint matched to the Dulux Copper Penny, we don't provide any crossover information because this is a subjective determination. Every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection, so determining which color is the best approximation is a judgement call.
However, under the color image on a color page there is a link that says "Explore Related Colors". Clicking this link displays colors with similar values and you can look for any colors from the company you want.
Keep in mind that this just shows similar colors based on the color values we have stored in our database. It doesn't mean it is the same or give any approximation about how close the color is. You can play around with the Hue, Lightness and Chroma sliders to expand the selection.
