If you need easier cleaning or more wear resistance, a higher sheen is often the practical choice. If you want less reflection and a lower-key look on the finished part, a lower sheen may be better. The right choice depends on the item, not just the color name.

Use light, even coats and keep the spray pattern moving so the finish builds gradually instead of flooding the surface. Hold the can at a consistent distance, overlap each pass slightly, and avoid heavy passes that can cause runs, uneven sheen, or muddy color build.
