Coverage depends on the size of the item, the surface texture, the hiding power of the substrate, the application method, and how many coats you plan to apply. For spray paint, a typical can covers about 20 square feet with one coat. Other MyPerfectColor paint formats typically cover about 400 to 600 square feet per unit, depending on the product and surface.

If you are coating a small part, trim piece, vent, pipe, or accessory, plan by the actual surface area rather than the item name alone. If the surface is rough, porous, dark, or uneven, you may need more paint than a smooth surface would require.

For the best result, clean the surface first, remove grease or residue, and let it dry completely. Light scuffing is appropriate on some surfaces when adhesion needs help, and masking can protect adjacent areas that should not be painted.

It is also wise to test the MyPerfectColor match of ICI Sonata 345044 on the actual surface before painting the full item. That helps you confirm adhesion, coverage, and appearance on the material you are using.

Choose the finish based on how the item will be used and how much reflectivity you want. Lower-gloss finishes usually hide surface imperfections better, while higher-gloss finishes are easier to wipe clean and can look brighter on the finished item.

The gloss level also changes how a match of ICI Sonata 345044 reads after application. Even when the color match is correct, the same color can look different in matte, satin, semi-gloss, or gloss finishes, so select the finish that fits the surface and handling needs.

Dry-to-touch, recoating, and full cure are different stages. Spray paint is usually dry to touch within minutes, should be recoated in about 1 to 2 hours, and is fully cured in about two weeks.

If the item will sit beside an existing painted surface, be aware that aging, texture, and gloss differences can make the new coating look different even when the color match itself is correct. For that reason, it is best to evaluate the finish on the actual part under the lighting where it will be used.
