Choose sheen based on use, cleanup, and how much surface detail you want to keep visible. Lower sheens hide small flaws better, while higher sheens are usually easier to wipe clean and can look more reflective. With Lilac Dream, the same color match will read differently as the sheen changes, so pick the finish that fits the part, not just the color name.

If the item will be handled often, sprayed on a smooth fixture, or cleaned regularly, a more durable finish may be the better ordering choice. For a less reflective look on a part with texture or minor surface marks, a flatter finish is often safer.

Even after you order a match of ICI Lilac Dream, the finished item can still look different depending on light, viewing angle, sheen, and what is around it. This is especially true for a very light, low-chroma color like Lilac Dream, because small changes in gloss or nearby surfaces can be easier to notice.

If the part will sit beside an existing painted surface, review it under the same lighting and from the normal viewing distance before you decide whether the result works for your project. The color match can be correct and still appear different from the original reference once it is on a real object.

Coverage depends on surface size, texture, hiding power, application method, and how many coats you need. As a planning guide, a typical can of spray paint covers about 20 square feet with one coat. Other MyPerfectColor paints usually cover about 400 to 600 square feet, but the actual result still depends on the project.

If you are coating a textured, porous, or dark surface with a light color like Lilac Dream, plan for extra material because more than one coat may be needed for even coverage. For small parts, fixtures, or removable items, it is usually better to estimate conservatively than to order too little.

Clean the surface first so dirt, grease, and contamination do not interfere with adhesion. Then scuff the surface as needed so the new coating has something to grip, and address rust or failing old paint before you spray a match of ICI Lilac Dream.

The condition of the existing coating matters. Gloss, texture, and wear can change how the new Lilac Dream finish looks, even when the color match is correct. If the old coating is unstable or peeling, remove the loose material first and make sure the substrate is sound before ordering or applying the finish.
