Use light, even coats instead of one heavy pass. Hold the can at a consistent distance, overlap each pass slightly, and keep moving before and after each spray stroke. Heavy passes can cause runs, uneven sheen, or color that looks muddy, so build coverage gradually and let each coat flash off before the next one.
