A match of CertainTeed 8 Glacier Blend is a muted warm gray-beige with very low chroma and a restrained, slightly earthy cast. It reads as a light-to-medium neutral rather than a clean gray, with enough depth to avoid looking washed out.
For direct touch up after shipping damage, installation scuffs, field cutting, or service work, use Original Material Match when the repair needs a sheen match. MyPerfectColor paint matched to this CertainTeed siding color can also be used on spray-paintable replacement parts and accessories such as vent covers, trim pieces, fascia details, soffit components, brackets, fastener caps, shutters, railings, and small hardware items that need to blend with nearby siding.
Because the color is muted rather than vivid, it often covers in a controlled, even way, but finish and substrate still matter. Darker underlayers, rough texture, embossing, or aged exterior material can change how the color reads and may make gloss differences more noticeable at the repair edge. A light or uneven base may also need additional coats for uniform coverage.
For direct touch up on factory-finished building materials, use Original Material Match when available because it includes a sheen match. Other MyPerfectColor formats are better suited to separate parts, accessories, or broader repainting where direct touch-up performance is not the goal.

Yes. For direct touch up on factory-finished siding in CertainTeed 8 Glacier Blend, choose a MyPerfectColor option that explicitly says Original Material Match. In this collection, that is the option that includes a sheen match, which is important after shipping damage, installation damage, field cutting, or service work.
If you are repairing a small area on the same part, this is the most direct product path. If the repair is on an older installed surface, the color may still read differently because of age and weathering.
It can be the correct color reference and still not look identical beside an older installed surface. Sun exposure, chalking, moisture, sheen change, texture, and batch variation can all make existing siding read differently from the original CertainTeed 8 Glacier Blend reference.
If you are matching against weathered siding, expect some visual difference even when the color is right. When the area is highly visible or the existing part is aged, a site-specific comparison or existing-part check is safer than relying on the brand reference alone.
For direct touch up on factory-finished siding, order Original Material Match. Water-based housepaint, urethane, and epoxy can be color-matched options, but they do not include a sheen match and should not be treated as direct touch-up products for this kind of repair.
If you are painting a replacement board, trim piece, or another separate part, one of the other matched product formats may fit the job better. Choose the format based on whether you are touching up the original surface or coating a separate component.
This color record is for CertainTeed siding, so it is meant to help coordinate exterior cladding and related parts that need to blend with 8 Glacier Blend. That can include trim, soffit, fascia, shutters, gutters, flashings, or other nearby accessories that are being painted to coordinate with the siding color.
Use the brand color as the reference, but confirm the actual part and finish before ordering if the item is already installed or weathered. The right match depends on the material family and the condition of the piece being painted.
Exterior exposure can change how CertainTeed 8 Glacier Blend looks over time. UV, moisture, weathering, and chalking can shift sheen and appearance, so a fresh MyPerfectColor match may not read the same as older siding already on the wall.
If the area has been exposed for a long time or is highly visible, compare against the actual installed piece or a site sample before ordering. That is the safest way to reduce mismatch risk on weathered siding.
It depends. MyPerfectColor matches the color of the CertainTeed 8 Glacier Blend but may not match the sheen. If you see Custom Sheen as a sheen option, this means we also match the sheen of the material, otherwise you would need to pick the closest sheen available. However, keep in mind that our version of the CertainTeed 8 Glacier Blend is based on matching an official CertainTeed color sample. The color and sheen of your specific CertainTeed parts may vary. If your material is not new and has been exposed to the weather, then it is likely that the color has changed over time. MyPerfectColor samples not been exposed to sunlight and weather. If you need a touch up application, you may need to send us a part so we can create a touch up solution precisely matching the current color and sheen of your specific materials.
