MyPerfectColor spray paint sticks well to most plastics, but slick, flexible, or low-energy plastics may need better prep and, in some cases, a primer. Using the MyPerfectColor primer for Acrylic Enamel can improve adhesion when the substrate is difficult.

Clean the surface first so oil, dust, and contamination do not interfere with adhesion. If the metal has rust, loose coating, or damaged areas, address those before painting. If you are coating over a sound existing finish, a light scuff can help the new coat bond, but the old coating's gloss, texture, and condition can still affect the final appearance.

Apply light, even coats instead of heavy wet passes. Keep the can moving at a consistent distance, overlap each pass slightly, and let each coat flash off before adding the next one. Building the color gradually helps reduce runs, uneven sheen, and muddy color build on the finished item.

Finish changes how reflective the coating is, which changes how the color reads on the part.
