MyPerfectColor custom spray paint matched to SW6990 Caviar is a very dark charcoal-black color with a faint cool, slightly violet-gray cast. It has extremely low chroma, so it reads close to neutral rather than clearly colored.
This match is useful for spray-painted vents, speaker grilles, switch covers, railings, brackets, hardware, mailboxes, shutters, and other small parts where a near-black finish needs to stay visually quiet. It can also be used on metal, plastic, wood, and previously coated accessories after proper preparation when a consistent dark finish is the goal.
Because the color is so dark, the final look can change with substrate, film build, and sheen. Light or uneven base colors may show through sooner and can need additional coats for even coverage. Higher gloss levels can make surface texture, sanding marks, and edge differences more noticeable.

Confirm SW6990 Caviar from a physical Sherwin-Williams swatch, an existing known painted sample, or another trusted original-brand reference before ordering. MyPerfectColor makes a custom match to the selected brand color reference, so screen viewing alone is not enough to verify the target. Also confirm the product format and quantity you need before you place the order.
For SW6990 Caviar, start with a clean, dry surface and remove dust, grease, and loose coating before painting. Light scuffing can help where appropriate, and masking can protect nearby areas on trim, hardware, or fixtures. If possible, test the MyPerfectColor match on the actual surface first so you can check adhesion and appearance before coating the full item.
Sheen affects both appearance and performance for SW6990 Caviar. Higher gloss usually reflects more light, cleans more easily, and can make the matched color read differently on the finished item. Lower sheen reduces reflectivity but may show surface texture differently. Choose the finish based on how the part will be used and how much wear or cleanup it needs.
A match of Sherwin Williams SW6990 Caviar can be used on many plastics, but plastics vary widely, so testing on the actual material is important. MyPerfectColor spray paint sticks well to most plastics, and using the MyPerfectColor primer can improve adhesion on difficult surfaces. Clean the part first and verify the result on a small area before painting the full item.
Custom-made orders for SW6990 Caviar should be chosen carefully because they are made to your selected color reference, product type, sheen, and quantity. Once a custom color match is made, it is not returnable or refundable. Confirm the original color reference and all order details before checkout to reduce the risk of ordering the wrong product.
