Step 1: Select Paint Type / Application

A match of Ameritone Devoe 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray is a very light gray with a faint cool green-blue cast and very low chroma. It reads soft and restrained rather than bright or warm, and its high LRV gives it a pale, open look on small parts and larger painted pieces alike.

As MyPerfectColor custom spray paint matched to the selected brand color reference, this shade can be useful on vents, speaker grilles, switch plates, access panels, PVC trim pieces, brackets, shelving supports, railings, mailboxes, and hardware. It also suits removable fixture parts and accessories where a pale neutral finish needs to coordinate with other painted components without drawing attention to the part itself.

Because this is a very light color, darker or uneven substrates can show through more easily and may need careful prep and more than one coat for even coverage. Finish, texture, and film build can also shift how the cool undertone reads, so consistent spray application matters if you want the match to look uniform across the full surface.

Frequently Asked Questions About Match of Ameritone Devoe™ 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray *

Can I order 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray from Ameritone Devoe as MyPerfectColor spray paint for baskets, frames, or shelf accents?

Yes. MyPerfectColor can make a custom spray paint match of Ameritone Devoe 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray for small project parts where spray application is practical.

This format is often used for baskets, frames, shelving, decor pieces, brackets, knobs, hardware, and other removable items that need to coordinate with a known paint color. It is important to treat this as a MyPerfectColor match to the selected color reference, not the original Ameritone Devoe paint product.

How much 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray spray paint should I plan for a small project?

A typical spray can covers about 20 square feet with one coat, so use the total area you expect to spray as your starting point for 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray.

Actual coverage depends on the size of the part, surface texture, how much hiding is needed, the spray technique, and whether you need more than one coat. Rough, porous, dark, or uneven surfaces usually need more paint than a smooth, light, single-part item.

What finish should I choose for 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray if the part will be handled often?

Choose the finish based on how the part will be used, because sheen changes both durability and the way 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray reads on the finished item.

Lower-sheen finishes reduce reflectivity, while higher-sheen finishes reflect more light and can make surface flaws more noticeable. If the part will be cleaned or handled often, pick the finish that best fits that use, and make sure it is compatible with the substrate and application method you need.

Will 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray look the same after spraying it as it does in the color reference?

Not always. After application, 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray can read differently depending on lighting, sheen, texture, viewing angle, and the surfaces around it.

If the painted item will sit next to an existing surface, check it in the same lighting where it will be used. Small differences in aging, gloss, or substrate can change how the match appears even when the color formula is correct.

Can I spray 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray on plastic parts, and do I need primer?

Yes, MyPerfectColor custom spray paint matched to 2C17-1 Seclusion Gray can be used on many plastic parts, but plastics vary a lot and adhesion depends on the exact material.

Clean the part well, test on the actual plastic, and use the MyPerfectColor primer when you want better adhesion on a slick or low-energy surface. Primer and prep are especially important if the part will be handled frequently or if the plastic is difficult to coat.
