The Valspar Corporation is a manufacturer of paint and coatings based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Valspar was founded in 1806 as a paint dealership in Boston, Massachusetts. The Valspar name emerged in 1903 as the name of clear varnish and became the company name in 1932. The clear varnish was the company's main product for more than 30 years. By 1984, the Valspar Corporation acquired Mobil's coatings division, and later in 2005, Valspar purchased Samuel Cabot Incorporated - most known for its Cabot brand interior and exterior stains and finishes. Sherwin-Williams acquired Valspar in June 2017.

FAQs about Valspar

Will my Valspar Color Matched Paint exactly match my existing wall color?
If you are repainting an entire wall (or painting for the first time), then our color matches will work great for your needs. However, if you are touching up only a part of wall (especially if it is quite old), then there is a chance that the colors will differ. Learn more about the difficulties of touching up aged paint.
Which Valspar paint is best for interior walls?
MyPerfectColor doesn't sell Valspar paint, but it does match Valspar paint colors in a wide variety of paint types. The best paint for interior walls is typically a matte or eggshell. Flat paint is most often used for ceilings and semi-gloss paint is used for trim. If it is a commercial or industrial application, you may have other considerations such as chemical resistance. Custom spray paint can be used for in wall speakers, railings, HVAC vents, electrical cabinets and anything else needing a professional spray smooth finish. Contact MyPerfectColor support if you have specific questions about the best paint to use for your project.

MyPerfectColor understands the importance of time to our customers, and we do our best to ship orders as soon as possible. 70% of our orders ship within 48 hours, but we do offer a 1 business day delivery guarantee option as well that is available during checkout. How do I convert a Valspar paint color to a different company?

While MyPerfectColor can provide paint in any Valspar paint color, we don't provide any crossover information. We've found that every paint company offers its own unique selection of colors and rarely does a color have an exact equivalent in another company's color collection. However, under the color image on a color page there is a link that says "Explore Related Colors". Clicking this link displays colors with similar values and you can look for any colors from the company you want. Keep in mind that this just shows similar colors based on the color values we have stored in our database. It doesn't mean it is the same or give any approximation about how close the color is. You can play around with the Hue, Lightness and Chroma sliders to expand the selection.
