The Pantone SkinTone Guide was created by Pantone by measuring the skin of thousands of people. This helped Pantone create a complete visual range of realistic skin colors.
The SkinTone Guide contains 110 colors numbered from 1Y01 SP to 4R15 SP. The Pantone SkinTone number indicates the color. There are 4 alpha-numeric digits - the first two positions reflect the hue. The second two positions represent the skin color lightness and darkness of the color.
