1950s house

I live in a house that was built in the 50's and have one wall of darker colored paneling in my living room that I'm not allowed to paint. I'm trying to figure out a good paint color for the living room so far I've had yellow and a horrid bright green that didn't come out good any suggestions?

Thank you for your question. I can definitely suggest color ideas for you. With the presence of the dark paneled wall, my first inclination is to stay with a fairly neutral color for the walls. This doesn't have to mean beige, but even a muted shade of non-neutral color could work well.

You will need to take into account your flooring and other surfaces that will affect your wall color. Even the dark wood wall itself will affect the walls around it. Depending upon the type of wood color, it can throw a pink, orange, or green, cast onto the other walls. That's why it's so crucial to test any color you're considering, as it will look different in the actual setting.

Here are some suggestions for you to consider:

Benjamin Moore Safari AF-335

Benjamin Moore Anjou Pear AF-425

Benjamin Moore Face Powder CSP-1085

Benjamin Moore Plantation CSP-820

Benjamin Moore Crumb Cake CSP-1010

I hope this helps!
