Painting an antique sideboard buffet

Hello! So I am painting an antique sideboard buffet and need some advice. off what paint color do you recommend, the lady I am painting it for wants a rust color. I have had a few samples made of rat colors and they either look to orange or to purple. Secondly the look I am going for is a high gloss not sure if that's laquer or enamel

That is a gorgeous sideboard! In regard to your question on the paint finish, that is really a personal preference between a lacquer or high gloss finish, and how you plan to apply the paint. When you select a paint color on MyPerfectColor, the "Select Color" page gives you a variety of paint finish options, including paint specifically for wood and furniture. A lacquer paint is available, in a spray, in a multi-pack. You'll want to order samples of any colors you're considering, to be sure it's perfect for the project. The samples come in flat paint, but you can get a good idea of the color to show your client.

Here are my suggestions for rust colors that might work for this project:

Benjamin Moore Fiery Opal 077

Benjamin Moore Baked Terra Cotta 1202

Benjamin Moore Audubon Russet HC-51

Benjamin Moore Montana Agate 056

Best of luck with the project. Please come back to share a photo of the finished product!

Thank you,
