Thank you so much for your question, and the photos. Looking at your photos, my thought is that carrying one color between both rooms would be nice, and would create a nice open look. An accent wall (where the fireplace is) would be a great way to add extra style, and separate the spaces just a bit.

Of the two color combinations you've mentioned, you might want to mix them up for a more harmonious look. What I mean is that a gray green may not work well with a purple/red/brown accent, and a yellow/gold with blue gray. There are instances when using cool and warm colors together can work well, and that would be in certain types of color schemes (like complementary which is what a yellow and purple would be.

For the all-over wall color, I would suggest sampling a warm gold/beige or warm beige, and sample a muted violet or brown/purple for the accent wall. This may be a good place to start. Looking at the furniture and accessories, I can't envision a blue/gray in the room, or a gray/green, but I would definitely sample those colors in the space, with your furnishings, before deciding.
