Paint for doorknob backing plates, hinges, etc.

Hello,

I'm looking for a (non-metallic) gold paint to apply to the backing trim for a few doorknobs, plus some hinges and the surround for the bolts in the side of the doors.

For various reasons, I don't want to use a spray. I'm thinking something thin like a RustOleum style paint might be suitable, as I don't want a heavy looking paint over the metal. Do you offer some sort of paint that would be good match for this purpose? I don't need much of it...

I am looking to get a decent match for the gold color that is part of the knob itself, since that is actually in good condition. It's the other parts that don't look so great.

Thanks!
Martin

Hi Martin, we have metal paint that would be perfect for your project
http://www.myperfectcolor.com/Metal-Paint/33873.htm

we can also match the color for you. Can you send us a part? (we'll return it)
Send it to:
MyPerfectColor
Attn: Color Lab
222 S. Livingston Ave
Livingston, NJ 07039

Please include your contact information. We'll reach out once we receive it to discuss the details of what you need. Our experts will match the color and then ship it to you. The process usually only takes 1-2 days.
Thanks!

Also, consider a metallic glaze, which doesn't give a completely solid look and tends to blend well with metals. The brand, DecoArt makes several shades of brass and golds that look quite good with other metals and you can usually get a match or can mix the shades until you do. The DecoArt glazes are sold at craft, art and paint stores.

Jason,

Sorry it took so long for a reply.

I *might* be able to remove something for a color match. If not, can I select from all the colors shown on this site? Is a pint the smallest size available? What would shipping charges be to 07644?

To "Real Design" - thanks for the info as well, but I'm trying to avoid using a metallic. Not that it looks bad, but more wrong for this room.

Thank you,
Martin

You can select from the colors on the site, but keep in mind that the accuracy could be way off since the colors you see are only digital representations of the colors and subject to monitor variations. Most paint types are available in a pint and shipping to 07644 is probably in the $8-$10 range. Best, Jason
