Primer can never hurt. Normally for interior applications a primer may not be necessary, but for exterior applications or if there is ever a question then use a primer that would be recommended for the surface you are painting. Our paint will stick to any primer. It is always a good idea to test on a hidden area first to make sure there aren't any problems.
