Hi,
There are many components to a kitchen, cabinets, back splash, counter tops, floors, appliances, and lighting. A very overwhelming task since everything has to be coordinated with the right undertones. Recommendation go with a color that pulls out similar colors from one of those features. Granite counter top pull out a lighter color from slab for walls. Make sure color has similar undertones to other elements in the kitchen. Most kitchens have perfectly coordinated cabinets, granite tops, with undertones then if that is the case pull out a color you prefer from those components.
As with lighting that is hit or miss. It is recommend to sample color before commitment since lighting is influenced by your environmental factors.
A lengthy explanation is needed. It easier to show concept, for now I will keep it simple.
I hope this helped.
Sincerely,
Maria Anna K.
