Hello,
Thank you so much for sharing your photo. It is possible to use gray in your living room. I would suggest sampling a warm gray, like Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter HC-172. http://www.myperfectcolor.com/en/color/102897_Benjamin-Moore-HC-172-Revere-Pewter. It's a very warm gray that works in a variety of rooms. The key will be sampling the grays you're considering, as even the brick of the fireplace can affect the color.

I am painting the wall behind my red brick fireplace. I would love to do a grey but I have a lot of tan decor and tan halfway up the walls in the next room. Any suggestions?
